Exercise - Any Time - Anywhere
Travel used to be a good excuse for me not to exercise. I like to travel light. Just a carry on, no checked luggage. My excuse was I didn’t have the room to pack the extra accoutrements that exercising requires. Plus, if I’m traveling it usually meant I was taking a vacation of some sort. Shouldn’t a vacay from exercising be included?
Of course then I’d get home after a week or two of no exercise and feel like I was out of shape and had to start all over again. Which could be a trigger to why bother, and I’d continue to put it off.
For the first time in my life I feel differently about exercising my body. It’s more of a health routine. My way of staying out of the Doctor’s office, and prescription free. I strength train because as we age, especially after menopause, we lose muscle mass. I want to age strong with mobility and strength.
Anytime, Anywhere, Even in my Underwear
I was wondering how I would keep up my routine while I’m in North Carolina for two weeks. I don’t have weights here. I did a Youtube search for an online trainer and landed on this chipper and encouraging, woman named Denise Austin. She does 5, 10, 15, and 30 minute routines you can do in the privacy of your room. Which means I don’t need any additional gym wear. Pajamas will do. I simply pull her Youtube channel up on my laptop, and 3-2-1, I get started. Before I know it, I’m done. And feeling proud of myself.
I think she’s a great way to ease into exercising if you haven’t been, but want to start. I always feel great afterward. And the fact that it’s in my room and I don’t have to drive or pay to exercise is a terrific incentive. Plus there’s something about her cheerful attitude that makes me smile. Let me know if you have a good online trainer. I’d love something aerobic with great danceable music.
